Mentoring

Mentoring is the cornerstone of what the organization brings to the community by guiding youth in life experiences, fostering a 100bmamentorpositive self-perception and self-respect, encouraging excellence in education, and the pursuit of positive life-long goals. Globally chapters are engaged in innovative mentoring programs that serve the unique needs in their local communities. The 100 Black Men of Alton, Inc. has mentored several hundred youth through various programs:

Future All Stars Basketball Program

Provide an opportunity for 40 at-risk youth between the ages of 9-15 to participate in a structured extra-curricular activity.
Improve the academic and behavioral achievement of 75% of participants
Increase participating youth’s knowledge on the dangers associated with the illegal use of drugs and alcohol.
Provide positive interaction through recreational and educational activities
